San Diego District

Dear Members and Prospective Members,

I’m honored to introduce myself as your incoming CAND- San Diego District (SDD) President for the 2025–2026 member year. As a proud member of this vibrant community of RDN’s, NDTR’s, and future nutrition professionals, I’m filled with hope and excitement as we look toward a new chapter together.

With diminishing enrollment in DPD/DI programs, decreased federal funding for nutrition services, and the growing influence of self-appointed “nutrition and wellness experts”, it is more vital than ever for us to cement our presence as the true authorities in nutrition and dietetics. The role of SDD is to promote and advocate for our profession—and you can play a crucial part in this mission by SIGNING UP TO BE A MEMBER.

This year, my focus is on strengthening our district’s foundation by promoting its sustainability through growth, advocacy, and adaptability. I believe in our shared potential to create meaningful change, and I know this journey will take all of us. Whether you’re looking to connect socially, expand your professional network, or contribute to the growth and evolution of our profession, there’s a place for you here.

There are currently six essential Board/Committee roles within SDD that we are looking to fill, along with countless general volunteer opportunities. No matter your availability or interests, your involvement makes a difference. 

I’m truly excited to grow with you and welcome any feedback or suggestions that will help make this a fabulous membership year.
