Provides education and clinical consultation for staff of the Student Health Services.*Furthermore, the incumbent provides services that are equitable, inclusive, and culturally sensitive to enhance the quality of campus life. This position uses a student-centered and equity-minded approach in all communication and service efforts.Key Responsibilities:• Registered Dietitian Student Support. Performs outpatient nutrition counseling sessions, including assessment, education, medical nutrition therapy (prescription of food and supplements), and monitoring/evaluation. Range of issues addressed includes (but is not limited to): sports nutrition, diabetes education, eating disorders/disordered eating, diet and weight management, meal planning, education regarding eating choices on campus, food allergies/intolerances, autoimmune disorders, and nutrition recommendations as they relate to overall health and wellness. Documents all services in the SHS electronic medical records system. Acts as a member of the Eating Disorder Treatment Team.• SHS Department Support. Participate in SHS staff meetings, committees, activities to support AAAHC accreditation and other activities/projects in support of SHS and the wider campus. Participates in regular feedback of nutrition programs, policies, and procedures. Provides clinical consultation, in-services, and education for SHS staff, including peer educator mentorship, as needed. Assists with coordination of peer nutrition counseling program.Knowledge Skills and Abilities:*Comply with HIPAA Health Care Privacy and Security Law. The RD credential also requires completion of an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics accredited pre-professional experience program. Additionally, incumbents must possess sufficient experience to perform the assigned duties.• Possess and maintain certification as a Registered Dietitian as defined by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.• Master’s degree and at least 2 years previous nutrition counseling preferred.• Experience with eating disorder diagnosis, treatment, and management preferred.Physical Summary:Light work – Job involves some lifting of medium weight objects (10-20 pounds) and/or 10% – 20% of the job involves standing or walking.Department:Student Health Services

Classification:Registered DietitianCompensation:Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,152 – $8,012 per month.Benefits:Excellent benefits through CalPERS (health, vision, dental), tuition fee waiver, generous vacation, and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays each year.Time Base:1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.Duration of Appointment:This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted.
