Hello Diablo Valley Dietitians! We are excited to bring you another virtual CEU opportunity with a presentation on kidney stones.

Kidney Stones: How they develop and how nutrition can aid in prevention with Lauren Levy

Wednesday, May 10th at 5:30pm via Zoom – registration closes Monday, May 8th  – CEU: 1.0 unit

Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
1. Learn the risk factors for kidney stone development.
2. Identify the most common types of kidney stones
3. Understand important urinalysis results related to kidney stone risk
4. Review nutrition interventions that can positively impact future kidney stone formation.

Speaker Bio:
Lauren Levy MS, RD, CSR is a renal dietitian and certified specialist in renal nutrition who works with people with all types of kidney diseases. She earned her bachelor’s degree and completed her dietetic internship in Dietetics from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, and her master’s degree at the University of California, Davis. Lauren worked as a renal dietitian in dialysis for over 10 years and is now the owner of Happy Health Nutrition LLC, a dietitian-led group private practice specializing in kidney health. Lauren is also the Director at Culinary Nutrition for Kidneys Inc, a nonprofit corporation whose goal is to teach people with chronic kidney disease how to cook kidney-friendly food and why it is important. Lauren enjoys working with people, experimenting with recipes, and finding ways that healthy choices feel attainable, sustainable, and enjoyable for her clients.
