California Academy Diversity Statement

The CA Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics strives for inclusion, diversity, equity, and access among present and future dietetic professionals. Like the Academy, California Academy encourages diversity and inclusion by working to remove the barriers to underrepresented represented communities and to enhance access to dietetic services and to the profession by all.

CA Academy defines each component of IDEA as follows:

Inclusion: All are valued and welcomed. Inclusion supports an environment which all are respected, represented supported, and valued to fully participate.

Diversity: All differences are embraced. Diversity includes all the ways in which people and groups differ.

Equity: All having the opportunity to fully participate. Equity ensures all policies and practices adhere to fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement across all peoples, while working to eliminate barriers of historical and systemic racism.

Access: Of any and all abilities. Access is the commitment for everyone to be included.
