The current base salary range for this position is $75,100-$83,800. “Off-scale” salaries, which yield compensation that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.

Position descriptionThe Department of Nutritional Sciences and Toxicology at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for an Assistant Adjunct Professor nine-month position, in the area of nutritional sciences. This position will be fully funded by the Master of Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics (MNSD) program. Candidates are not expected to be self-funded for the activities expected for this position. As an Assistant Adjunct Professor, candidates should exhibit clear potential to develop an excellent record in research, teaching, and service.

We seek an individual who will be contributing to the department and the Master of Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics (MNSD) program by teaching MNSD courses, guiding students through their research experience and capstone projects, and participating in department and MNSD program committee assignments and tasks as requested by the committee chair or department chair (e.g., assist with admissions, fundraising efforts and grants, program events, identifying sites and collaborators for research experiences and supervised practice internships, assist with student placements, and/or other tasks as needed). We are particularly interested in an individual whose research focuses on the developmental origins of health and disease.

The Department of Nutritional Sciences and Toxicology at the University of California, Berkeley offers a highly interactive environment with world-class research being conducted in a wide range of areas in Metabolic Biology, Molecular Toxicology, and Nutritional Sciences.
