Public Policy Panel
CDA’s Public Policy Council was changed in 2007 to reflect the
changes made in grassroots advocacy by the American Dietetic
Association. The CDA Public Policy Council is made up of the VP
Public Policy, the Public Policy Panel, the District Public Policy
Representatives, our legal counsel in Sacramento, an ADA delegate and
the CDA Administrator. |

reimbursement by insurance companies for formulas & MNT for inborn errors of
metabolism. SUPPORT.
2) AB 2128 (Emmerson): regulations & education for
dietary services supervisors. SUPPORT as amended.
3) AB 2303 (Emmerson): CDA spot bill in case
title act needs to be changed; do nothing yet. NO ACTION. |

- The House funding of at
least $600 million for food and
agriculture research
- A funded food stamp program
that includes the Senate pilot
program to help food stamp
recipients choose diets
consistent with the Dietary
guidelines for Americans
- Initiatives to improve the
school food environment through
the Senate Fresh Fruit and
Vegetable Program and Senate
Team Nutrition Network funding
- Rebalanced food and
agriculture program benefits
2) HR
2805 (Becerra): give Medicare the
authority to expand Medicare’s
Medical Nutrition Therapy benefit.
3)
HR 2922 (DeGette): add
pre-diabetes to the MNT coverage
under Medicare.
4)
S 1161 (Bingaman): give Medicare
the authority to expand the MNT
benefit.
5) S 755 (Schumer): require
state Medicaid programs cover the
screening and treatment (including
MNT) of diabetes. |
