A Message from Carrie Der Garabedian, MBA, RD, CFPM, Central Valley District, President 2016-2017
Welcome to the Central Valley District (CVD). We have an exciting year planned for you, with some new events never before orchestrated. I am honored and humbled to be serving as your President for the 2016-2017 year.

I believe that we have one of the most intelligent, talented, and creative group of individuals in the entire Central Valley. Together, we have the opportunity to expand our visibility and promote the RD/RDN/DTR to gain wider recognition this year. It is well-deserved and we are primed to make it happen.

I perceive that the work we do in the nutrition and dietetics profession spans the entire life cycle and that our various jobs, though diverse, are common in their central focus on customer service. The more closely we work together, the stronger and more effective the dietetics message will resonate when serving our community.

During my presidency, my goals for this year include:
    1. Increase the recognition and visibility of the RD/RDN/DTR
    2. Establish stronger grassroots with elected officials
    3. Encourage member feedback to strengthen and widen the educational program outreach
    4. Continue to build relationships with our colleagues by meeting/event networking

I hope that you will reach out to any of the Executive Board members with feedback at any time. We encourage and welcome your comments. Please join us for an educational, informative and fun-filled year, with many historic firsts for our district.
